One scary singletrack video.

By this time tomorrow night I hope to be bringing back a new (to me) enduro / dualsport bike.  But I guarantee that you won't see me riding this trail!  Very impressive singletrack.

One sweet Yamaha XS650 racer

Outrageous Turbocharged Harley Street Tracker / Street Fighter or... whatever...

Sure it's a big corporate sponsored show bike (which I usually don't go in for) but the creative routing of the exhaust straight off the turbocharger is just too freaking cool.

A Pair of Excellent (and Italian) Reader Rides.

One old and one new but both "classics".

The first is from Richard E Jones who is also the owner of the excellent Motokafe Blog.  Very nice site. Be sure and check him out.  He sends in a stylish pic of the "business end" of his sweet 2010 Ducati  Hypermotard.

The next bike was sent in by Josh Wright

Josh sends in his... "1985 Moto Guzzi Le Mans 1000 IV, it'll be taking me to France, Switzerland and Italy this summer, can't wait.
All original with 40mm Del'Orto carbs and La Franconi exhausts, which give the deepest roar at idle and sound even better on the road."

Really great rides gentlemen. thanks very much for sending them in. I envy you both.

Now for something a bit different! 1939 BMW R71

Some old school Bavarian cool!  And it's for sale.  Don't know for how long though.  For the record, no  not mine and I do not know the owner.

Koehler Escoffier "Industrial Art"

It's my understanding from reading some translated pages that there were only 13 of this French made racing model ever built. I'm searching in vain for a definitive site on this brand. Any help along these lines that I could pas along to my readers would be very much appreciated!

Reader Ride. One tough Triumph Scrambler.

Mario Spatarella sends in some pics and video of his tough looking scrambler. I love the pipe treatment and blacked out wheels.

Thank You Mario!

Here's a nice Video.

Crossover post from the 2-stroke blog. Race schedule notification and wicked little DT1 250 Flat Tracker Care of Don Miller and Metro Racing!

Don Miller from Metro Racing sends in this beauty that he'll be campaigning at Daytona in a little more than a week.  You can see an earlier pic of the bike HERE from a previous post.

He Writes:

Hey Steve;
Haven't had any 2 stroke stuff to send lately. Here's something that may interest your readers.

My Sonic Weld, hard tail, Brakeless, DT1 250 Yamaha all ready for the new AMA Vintage Flat Track season opener at the Daytona Motor Speedways new short track on Feb 28th. If you are down there for bike week. Make sure you stop by! Seeing all these old flat trackers out on the track will be worth the trip. Racing starts at 11:00am on Sunday. Followed by an awesome amateur flat track program.

See you at the races,Don

Thanks again for the picture and for the heads up on those vintage Flat Track dates!  I'll try and make it down for sure!

Custom Benelli Six Cylinder Madness!

And if you get a moment please be sure and pay a visit to Chalopy! Interesting stuff over there. Hard to imagine from this picture but he's actually into the smaller cc bikes.

Ducati Scrambler.... Damm that's nice!

Outstandind Royal Enfield Scrambler build. A fresh chapter of the Sam Simons Chronicles!!

Sam has built so shared so many interesting bikes with me that he has his own search term over in the cloud.  do yourself a favor and check out some of his other excellent builds.  His 2-stroke bikes are legendary.  you can see more of his stuff over on my 2 Stoke Biker Blog.  I havn't heard from him in a while and I fugured he'd been up to something special and as usual he doesn't disappoint.

Sam writes in:

Hello Steve,
Been a while,huh. Well,although I've been involved with several non-motorcycle related activities,I did manage to finish the RE500(just yesterday!!).The basis for this 60's theme street scrambler was a new,dealer leftover '07 Bullet my wife located in Ohio late in '08. I bought it for the sole purpose of doing just such a bike,which made for a really odd feeling when I purchased a new machine that: 1) I

So,I hope you enjoy the pics,Steve.

Always a pleasure Sam!  Keep em coming!

Almost forgot... The before picture!!

A pair of Fantastic Reader Submittals!! A classic Norton twin and a slightly more modern Triumph Triple!

Reader James Doran from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada sends in a pair of beautiful Britis beauties. First up his Norton. James Writes:

Hi Superduck

Found you Great Motorcycle Photo Of The Day Blog site. My compliments! Thank you for capturing some beautiful looking bikes. I’ve attached a few of my 1974 Norton Commando 850 Interstate (slightly modified) from the Great White North. Sadly I had to sell it two years ago (a guy in Sydney, Australia bought it and had it shipped over there!). My bum right knee wouldn’t let me kick it over anymore. Replaced by a nice 1995 Triumph Thunderbird 900 triple which I really enjoy too (and it has an electric start!). I will send you a couple of pics of her too.

Upgrades/changes to the Norton

* Brembo master cylinder front brake
* M bars with bar end mirrors
* Podtronics electronics
* Single Mikuni 34 mm carb
* Primary belt drive
* Dunstall megaphones
* Older style rear tailight

Cheers

And heres a few of that triumph:

1995 Triumph Thunderbird 900 triple. Custom solo seat, M bars with bar ends, fly screen.

I love how she emulates the older Norton. Nice touch!  I rode a 1995 Speed Triple for quite a few years and I still think the early engines were the best.

Thanks Very Much for sending these beauties in!

Another excellent custom single Cafe! This time a Yamaha and NOT a photoshop.

My guess would be an SR500 based bike? Anyone know for sure?

Photoshopped Honda XL650 Raodracer conversion.

I've had a thing for big singles lately and this isn't helping any. If anyone knows the source of this could you please let me know. Thanks!

Really cool XS650 vintage Motocrosser.

I'm sure torque is NOT a problem with this bike! Must be a blast to ride.

Bultaco Metralla!

One tough XS650 Cafe.

Not too sure about the color selection but this is one tough looking build.

Daytona is almost here!

Yeah I know that DMG is screwing it all up AND that some of those transporters won't even be attending this year AND that it's more expensive than ever to go vintage racing (March 1'st and 2nd by the way) AND AND AND.... but don't let that stop you. the weather should be outstanding and lord knows we all need a break.
